This book has been written by a "Real Pro" as I call it. You can tell by the writing of this book on Children's Show know how this man knows what he is talking about and talks about lots of aspects of putting a show and even describes some of his "Pet" effects. Well worth a read.

Well its that time of year again when you have to dust of the Christmas version of Farmyard Frolics and put on your Christmas Happy Face.

To be honest with you I don't do too many Christmas tricks I feel that the parents and the Children are so smothered with it, it is not exciting any more!! Perhaps I am getting old or a miserable old git, but I really think most people think this. I know when I was very young the lead up was just breathtaking because it was about 3 weeks but now Christmas decorations are on sale again (after the New Years sales, which seem to last forever) at Easter.

I must admit also I have routined my own Christmas tricks by using a few utility props and made it just exclusive to me. Perhaps people cant be bothered any more, I don't know.

Where did May go to??????
It was as if it never happened. At least it was more productive (show wise) than April. April was really bad.Luckily I was able to do some Workshops which pulled me out a bit. That is why this month I have put some discount on the Workshops & Courses page. It has really been one of the most productive forms of work I have ever took up and over the last few years people have wanted to be more "hands on" instead of the Magic Shows where the kids just sit down and watch.

Another area which I have scored heavily with is with "Fortune Telling". I thought I would mention it as my "better half" May is arranging a workshop on 13/6/10 of "Card Reading". Well, the start of Spring! The beginning of the Holiday Camp Season, or is it? We find these days that a lot of the Camps are doing their own, "in house" shows and having the Magic Show being done by one of the team.
It is now time to think outside the box. Start to think of other ways to generate work. I appear to be getting a lot of Shopping Centre Shows which have become a godsend and I am very glad of it. You then have to work out different shows and even offer Workshops and maybe Punch & Judy to offer something other then Magic.
