Childrens Magic Tricks

Poor Malcolm the Lion is so upset because he has lost his teeth. He is so afraid to go out because everyone keeps laughing at him. He at last decides to go to the dentist who suggests he uses a toothbrush, or suggests he has a pair of false teeth. Malcolm puts in the teeth but they fall out. A visit to the witch doctor is the next step who produces various things out of his magic bag, all of which are no good. We must try and do the magic ourselves with the help of the witch doctor’s bag. The spell is cast and lo and behold out of the bag comes Malcolm with his new set of gnashers.

You get two 18" silks, one of Malcolm with teeth and one of Malcolm without. A few creepie crawlies. The silks supplied are hand painted and fully washable. A flat change bag is supplied too.  Another CJ Magic exclusive, from the pen of Jack and Chris Coleman.

Magi asks a young assistant up to help him. He places a small hat on this helper's head but it falls of. Magically, Magi makes it bigger but it falls off again! The routine gets funnier and funnier and the hat gets bigger and bigger until finally it becomes a giant mask to the complete hilarity of the audience. The hat is made of a very strong book binder's material and resets in a jiffy. A great hat and great routine for any show!

A yellow or white shoelace pulled through your hand changes to green or blue. Then a red lace pops out of your closed fist. Finally, the white or yellow shoelace reappears in your pocket. Made in USA by David Ginn

This delightful prop will be the hit of your children's show. Whether you are a magician or clown you will want to tell the story of the 'VANISHING ELEPHANT'. You receive four seven by ten inch laminated, full colour gimmicked cards. Pictured are a clown, Ringmaster, dancing horse and of course the VANISHING ELEPHANT. You also receive a circus tent where the elephant vanishes. A delightful story is told where the Elephant vanishes and the clown takes his place. The Ringmaster, dancing horse, and elephant are placed into the circus tent. After a little more story, the Ringmaster and dancing horse are reproduced and in place of the elephant is a card which reads GONE.

This trick has not been seen on the marked in over 20 years. It was originally made and sold by the late Jack Hughes. Now remade in a new and modern design. Nicely silk screened direct on the plastic plaque.

This is good clean easy to do magic for your children show, and a classic turn around effect- on a wooden base the audience are shown a photo of two birds sitting on a wall. The magician explain that he will make the birds disappear, and in order to do that he cover the plaque with a silk (not supplied) and now the magician put one hand under the silk and pretend with his hand to let the birds fly away saying 'fly away Peter fly away Paul', in the same movement he turn the plaque around to show that the birds has gone. At this state the young audience will protest and telling you that you turned it around. Ok the magician says 'I will bring them back,' once again the plaque is covered with the silk and turning it around to show that the birds are back, the young audience will protest harder and jelling 'YOU TURNED THEM AROUND'. After some by-play the magician promise to do the trick one last time, so once again he covers the plaque turn it around and remove the silk. And there on the wall is a photo of a big cat. The cat has eaten the birds.

The magician talks about Freddy who was so forgetful, someone said that one day he would even forget his head, if it wasn't attached to his body. The magician shows that it is not attached and one day Freddy forgot his head. The magician suggets that we try and help him and asks the children what we could use instead. It is decided to make a  replacement head by blowing up a balloon and drawing a face on it and attaching to Freddy's body. The magician gets the kids to shout some magic words and POP goes the balloon and BACK comes his head. When the balloon pops Freddy's head visibly reappears.

VERY simple to do and a VERY visual prop.

This is not a new magical effect but a new approach to a standard trick.

You tell the children that you are not very well, in fact you have a really bad cold. Just as you finish speaking you start to sneeze, put your hand in your pocket to get a handkerchief out and the children see the dirtiest handkerchief they have ever seen. It shows the children you have a VERY bad cold. You look embarrassed and take another one out and this is just as bad, so you take another one out and this is also just as bad.

You ask the children if they will help you clean them. Isn't it lucky you have brought with you your NEW Washing Powder. You take out of your magic box a detergent box. The children are the first to tell you that you can't wash hankies in that but you inform them you can. You promptly start to shove the hankies into the box and you commence to twist the box about. Eventually you pull out 3 clean hankies from the box. The children are fast to tell you that they think the dirty hankies are still in the box. You tell them they are not but they want to see inside. Eventually you open the box up flat, rip it up and toss it into the audience.

Well that is it, a really great kids effect with lots of business and comes with the following:

• Enough boxes to perform the trick 5 times and all the bits faked up to do this trick very shortly after unpacking it. (Bear in mind you don't have to rip the box up just show it empty)

Three spectators are asked on stage to help and try and win something quite valuable.  4 numbered envelopes are shown at all times in front of everyone. They are then asked to choose 1 of 4 large keys. Several times they are asked if they wish to change their minds.

After they are satisfied with their choice it leaves you with the last one.

They are then asked to change their coloured keys for a coloured numbered key fob to match their key colour.

They check their numbers and change them for the envelopes which match their coloured key fob and have been in full view ALL the time.

This leaves you with the last envelope which also matches the number on your key fob.

One at a time the spectators look at their envelopes, and are left with a consolation prize.  You open yours and you have the real cash prize.

This trick is VERY simple to perform and you can master it in less than 30 minutes. 

You tell the children that you have bought your Mum flowers for her birthday. You then show them a beautifully chromed bronzed tube. You ask if they would like them to see them and the children say "Yes" and you say, "No you don't really" and you carry on with this backward and forward for as long as you can get away with it. You eventually lift it up and from it 2 weedy looking flowers fall on the floor. The children take no time to tell you they are not very good. You lift them up and it appears one does not have a red head like the other one and the children don't take very long to tell you. You decide you are going to fix this and you put the flower under your arm and turn around to get your Magic Wand. As you do so the children see in the process of you turning around a beautiful red flower head has grown. They shout and tell you. You take it from under your arm and there is no bloom there. You tell the children they must be fibbing and you put it under your arm again and turn around to get the wand, and again the same has happened. This happens several times and for the last time you eventually see it. You now get the other flower. You tell the children there is nothing wrong with this as you have watered it just before you started and the man in the shop said, “When it wilts it needs water”. So it’s fine. As you turn away the flower wilts. This happens a few times and eventually you catch it wilting and you get very upset. Both of the flowers you have bought are not very good and it is your mum’s birthday. You put the 2 flowers inside the top of the tube and ask the children if they would help you try and make a really special bouquet. You get the children to shout 1, 2, and 3 and do a big magic blow and as you pull the tube off to take the place of the 2 weedy flowers is a really GREAT bouquet of flowers.

Everyone is happy. This is a really good kids effect with lots of byplay and lots of audience participation.

This is a trick I have been using for 30 + years. I do not know where it came from but it is a really great trick which I have honed with a strong routine that is great for adults and children.

For those in "the know" this is, Equal Unequal Ropes with a good storyline.

Needs a little handling, but well worth the effort.

This is my "Signature" routine which I have done for the last 15 years and do at virtually every kids show I perform at.

This is a routine that lasts for 10 to 12 minutes and and contains ALL of the props you require.

You get someone from the audience and attempt to vanish a silk hanky which doesn't quite work the first time. With several bits of business you eventually do the deed.

Because of your helpers brilliant work you offer to make them a piece of clothing as compensation for their help.

You say you are going to make her some clothes. You start to write 6 possible pieces of clothing on pieces of card (Bicycle Blank Face Cards). They choose one (perfectly free choice of card) and you endeavour to make their choice of clothing with disastrous results until you get everyone to help to put it right.

This set of props is usable for children of age range 3 years to adult with the patter slightly changed to suit your audience. The only trick that may not be suitable is H.B.T.Y for Adults.

The props will be enough for a 40 minute show with practice. Just think what a really cheap show with masses of audience participation for £60. This is a lot less than you would pay if they were bought separately

3 Children are asked to help and are told they are going to get a number of cards to jump from a pack into the card box. The number is chosen by a member of the audience.

5 cards are counted out and put into the card box and put to one side but visible at all times. The balance of the cards are also left in full view.

3 musical instruments are given to the children and you show them how to play them (which causes an uproar).

Then the serious business of getting the cards from the stack to the card box with the children using their instruments.

The card box is now opened and guess what the number in the card box has now increased to the amount that was pre-arranged.

This trick is great fun to perform if you let yourself go and get into the spirit of it.
